FORCE OF EVIL Begin Recording Debut CD

March 26, 2003

FORCE OF EVIL, the new Danish all-star band featuring guitarist Michael Denner (ex-MERCYFUL FATE),guitarist Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE),bassist Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND),drummer Bjarne Holm (MERCYFUL FATE),and vocalist Martin Steene (IRONFIRE),entered the studio on Monday (March 24) to begin recording their debut album, due on June 15 through an as-yet-undisclosed label. Week One of the production is focused on recording drums, while the following three weeks will be spent tracking guitars, bass, and vocals at the band's personal studios. Week Five will be the "re-grouping week," where everything recorded outside of the studio will be "rolled" onto the studios hard drives, followed by tweaking and mixing. All in all, the whole thing should be done in about a month and a half. As previously reported, the CD will be "loaded with evil-riffing and lots of guitar solos," according to Denner and Shermann. 11 songs are set to appear on the as-yet-untitled CD.

In related news, IRONFIRE are in the process of mixing their brand new demo, which was recorded over the course of the last three months at Nifilheim Studios. 11 "breathtaking tracks" have been laid down, "ranging from heavy mid-tempos to full-force tracks," according to an official statement. The group, who issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label, are hoping to release the follow-up to 2001's "On The Edge" later in the year.
